Lucy Privacy Policy
Lucy is a private diary app. We designed Lucy so your journal content stays under your control.
This policy explains what information Lucy may access, how it is used, and the third-party services involved in purchases.
Information You Create In Lucy
Lucy lets you create diaries, journal entries, attachments, themes, streaks, and app preferences. Your journal content is stored locally on your device. If you choose to use iCloud backup, Lucy saves backup files to your own iCloud Drive storage so you can restore your diaries.
Photos, Camera, And Attachments
Lucy may ask for camera access when you choose to take a photo for a journal entry. Lucy may also use Apple photo picker features when you choose photos from your library. These permissions are used only to add attachments you select to your journal entries.
Face ID And App Lock
If you enable Face ID unlock, Lucy uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework to unlock your journal on your device. Lucy does not receive or store your face data.
Notifications
If you enable weekly reminders, Lucy uses local notifications on your device. Lucy does not use these reminders for tracking or advertising.
Purchases
Lucy offers optional Diary+ purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Lucy uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status, restore purchases, and unlock Diary+ features. RevenueCat may process purchase-related information such as product identifiers, purchase history, entitlement status, and app/user identifiers needed to provide the purchase functionality.
What We Do Not Do
- Lucy does not sell your personal information.
- Lucy does not use third-party advertising.
- Lucy does not use App Tracking Transparency tracking.
- Lucy does not upload your journal content to our own servers.
iCloud
If you use iCloud backup, your backup files are handled by Apple’s iCloud services and associated with your Apple ID. You can manage iCloud storage and app access in Apple’s Settings app.
Data Deletion
You can delete journal entries, attachments, diaries, and backups from within Lucy where those controls are available. You can also remove local Lucy data by deleting the app from your device. iCloud backup files may also be managed through iCloud Drive and Apple device settings.
Children
Lucy is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Lucy, contact us so we can help address the concern.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Lucy changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
